![]() Custom DesignFlame ArrestorsENARDO meets unique customer requirements through our custom-designed Flame and Detonation Arrestors for protection against fire and explosion in flammable product storage and handling systems. ENARDO does not force-fit your applications to standard products. If our standard flame and arrestor products do not meet your criteria, ENARDO engineers will modify or custom design to your specifications. Special or unique designs can also be proven in our full-scale testing laboratory for an extra measure of safety assurance. Selection CriteriaBecause flame propagation poses significant dangers to personnel and systems, careful consideration should be given to determine whether an application requires a flame arrestor, a high pressure deflagration flame arrestor, or a detonation flame arrestor. Location of the potential ignition source and its distance from protected equipment is the key determinant in selecting an arrestor type. Examples of ignition sources include: blowers, vacuum pumps, flares, incinerators, lightning strikes, static discharges, unsealed relay switches, etc. Examples of protected equipment include: gas sources, process components, personnel, upstream process facilities, tanks, etc. The following parameters should then be evaluated to determine the appropriate flame arrestment protective device: (1) length of the pipe and pipe configuration between ignition source and arrestor; (2) initial operating pressure; (3) potential for flame stabilization on the element; and (4) system gas group classification. All of these variables affect the performance of the arrestor device and can also affect the dynamics of flame propagation. Read "Flame Arrestor Technology" (Adobe Acrobat PDF format) for a more thorough discussion of the design and application of flame arrestors.
Venting ProductsENARDO offers a complete line of venting products, including conservation vents, emergency pressure relief vents, gauge hatches and vent valves. These products provide protection against positive or vacuum overpressure and prevent air intake, evaporative or blanketing product losses, and help contain odorous, hazardous and potentially explosive vapors. ENARDO uses the latest technology in the manufacture of our products and we're one of the few companies that hold a current patent on our pressure vacuum relief valve design. ENARDO products offer advanced seal technology, utilize corrosion resistant seat and trim, and have all been flow tested to API 2000 with verifiable flow data. ENARDO's engineering staff is available to assist with special design requirements and the most challenging applications. Flow characteristics can be verified in our full-scale test laboratory for an extra measure of safety assurance. |
